Is Sri Lanka a high-risk country?

Sri Lanka is a high-risk country. The main security risks faced by China citizens in Sri Lanka include the existence of anti-government armed forces, the activities of religious extremist organizations, the influence of political changes and the threat of violent crimes. With the existence of anti-government armed forces, the main ethnic group in Sri Lanka is Sinhalese, most of whom believe in Pali Buddhism and spread to the south, accounting for 74.9% of the total population of Sri Lanka, and are local ethnic minorities. Tamils account for 15.4% and generally believe in Hinduism. They immigrated from the Indian subcontinent, and a considerable part of them were workers recruited by British planters from southern India in the middle of19th century. Due to religious differences and estrangement, and the British colonists tried their best to support the Tamil minority, suppressed the Sinhalese, the main ethnic group, and provoked national hatred. After Sri Lanka's independence, a protracted war broke out between Tamils and Sinhalese. The activities of religious extremists, due to the estrangement of religious customs and the British strategy of "divide and rule" over the colonies, led to the conflict between Buddhists and Muslims in Sri Lanka in the early 20th century.
