If you use "prepaid encrypted calling card", "credit card" or "debit card" to pay, you need to register in www.usavisainformation.com.cn (Education Network needs agent connection), enter your card number and password, and then make an appointment by phone (this online system may be unstable, according to netizens).

Bank card (with UnionPay logo, online service is not required), credit card and debit card are all used nationwide. I don't know the details yet, but it doesn't matter. Their system will test it. If it doesn't work, change it. You can also buy prepaid encrypted calling cards directly from China CITIC Bank, 54 yuan. Foreign currency credit cards are also acceptable.

The next step is to enter the password into the queuing system. If you want to book a visa directly, press 0 to connect with the customer service representative. After pressing 0, enter the queuing system and wait for the idle customer service representative. At this time, the system will tell you that the average waiting time is 4-5 minutes, and you will be charged from the time you connect with the customer service representative. After many verifications, if you don't have the patience to hang up at this time, your time will be deducted for one minute.

After the manual service is connected, the service girl will ask your Chinese name, pinyin, visa location, whether you have been refused a visa before (at this time, you will say that you have been refused a visa once), what visa (continue to use F 1), passport number, ID number, contact information and birthday. When you make an appointment, you will be told the time and date of the visa, and finally you will be given an "appointment number", which is 12 digits, followed by a check with a bar between the number and the check bit. Remember this number (Miss will repeat all the information). In addition, you can ask her to enter school earlier or later. The visa date can be selected within the range provided by them. If the date you want to make an appointment has not been determined, then you must call another day.

5. If you have made an appointment, but you can't get a visa temporarily, call 3 days in advance to cancel the appointment. Before the start of the new reservation system, if you can't get a visa on the same day, you can leave without calling to cancel-even if you call, the embassy people will ignore you, and their service attitude is very poor. Although the new system can cancel the reservation, because there is no special notice on the website of the embassy, it is feasible to make an estimate without saying hello that day. But to be on the safe side, I'd better call to cancel the reservation.

6. Reservations in Shanghai can be divided into "with barcode" and "without barcode" with different dates (generally speaking, those with barcode are earlier). If the reservation is made by bar code, you should use the online DS- 156 form (with bar code) when applying for a visa. If the reservation has no bar code, you can use the online DS- 156 form (with bar code) or the ordinary DS- 156 form when you apply for a visa.
