Climb to the top to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Sino-Vietnamese border and appreciate the majestic momentum of Zhennanguan in the past.
Friendship Pass, formerly known as Zhennanguan, was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. It is one of the nine famous passes in ancient China, and it is also the only pass in Jiuguanzhong that is still performing customs clearance functions.
Friendship Pass is a tower-shaped building with a height of 22 meters. The ground floor is a solid city wall with an arched gate in the middle.
On the left of the building is the wall of Zuobi Mountain, and on the right is the wall of Fu You Mountain. You can climb two mountains to have a look. One of them only takes about ten minutes to climb the mountain. Here, you can enjoy the ancient fortress and the historical vicissitudes and majestic momentum of the south gate of the former town. The other one takes about 40 minutes to reach the top of the mountain, and then you can have a panoramic view of the Sino-Vietnamese border.
Today, it exists as a customs port. Most people regard Friendship Pass as a transit point to Vietnam, and not many tourists come here to play. If you are interested in this important historical symbol, it is not bad to visit it.
Pingxiang has been an important border defense place in southwest Guangxi since ancient times, and Friendship Pass is the largest and most important border defense between China and Vietnam.
