Who has been to Hassan, Russia?

Hassan district was the first place where Russian maritime immigrants landed in the south of Heilongjiang in 1860. If you go to Russia by road or railway from Hunchun, China, or by sea from Sokcho, South Korea, Hassan District will be the first Russian territory you will see.

In the past, not only foreigners but also Russian citizens were forbidden to enter this area. Although the state of the military restricted area on the border was cancelled not long ago, the long-term closure policy has restricted the economic development of this area.

Today, Hassan District has become an international transportation corridor. It closely links Vladivostok, the capital of Primorsky Territory, with Jilin Province of China and Luoxian Free Economic Zone of North Korea, and becomes a transportation hub among Primorsky Territory of Russia, Jilin Province of China, Akita of Japan, Tottori Prefecture and Sokcho City of South Korea.

Hassan District is located at the southernmost tip of Primorsky Krai, with an area of 43 10 square kilometers. It has a population of 42,000 and a coastline of 276 kilometers. It borders Hunchun City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, China and Dongning County, Heilongjiang Province in the west, Luoxian Free Economic and Trade Zone across the river in the south, Ussurisk City in the north, Amur Bay in the east and Vladivostok, the capital of Russian Primorsky Territory.

Most of the northern part of Hassan district is rolling mountains. The black mountain range watershed is the border between China and Russia. The northern mountainous area is the earliest nature reserve in Russia-Songxueshan Nature Reserve. There is one of the few endangered species (red book animals) in the nature reserve, the Far East Leopard. The southern part of the region is a flat ocean terrace, and Tumen River is the boundary river between Russia and North Korea, and it is also the southernmost part of Russian territory. The 22 islands in Peter the Great Bay are an important part of Hassan District. Hassan District also has the only marine nature reserve in Russia.

Slavijanka Town, the administrative center of Hassan District, was founded in 1970. Most residential areas in the town are located in the hilly areas along the Slavijanka Bay. Slavijanka Bay faces Vladivostok across Amur Bay. There are Slavijanka Port and the largest shipyard in the Russian Far East.

Trosk Bay is the town (port) of zarubino. China's goods exported to Asia-Pacific countries transit through this port. After the cargo ship from sokcho stops, passengers and materials are transported to China by land.

Bo Schet Port is the oldest port in Primorsky Krai, located in the depths of Bo Schet Bay at the southernmost tip of Hassan District. There is a transshipment service to Akita, Japan in Boshe Port.

Hasan District has developed maritime transportation, and the ports are closely linked, which is directly connected with trans-siberian railway.

The town of Kraskino in the south of Hassan District is located at the intersection of two expressways, one leading to China and the other to North Korea.

Hassan district is a multi-ethnic area. Most residents are first-generation immigrants who came here from different parts of China at different times. Most residents in this area live near ports or transportation hubs. Marine enterprises account for most of the region's economy, and most people are engaged in marine-related work. Although the age structure of population in Hassan District is reasonable, the labor resources are very limited, and it is a region lacking in labor resources. In the labor market, the proportion of service industry is obviously too large, and there is a shortage of production workers. What is lacking is ship repair, agriculture and municipal personnel.
