Why are potatoes also called potatoes?

Some scholars believe that as early as the16th century, during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, potatoes were introduced to China.

At present, potato is the most important food crop used as human staple food in the world except grain, mainly eating its underground tubers.

Potatoes are also full of nutrients, including protein, minerals (phosphorus, calcium, etc. ), vitamins and other ingredients, and its nutritional structure is more reasonable, so it is called "underground apple".
