You can't learn English well in a period of time ... you can only stick to it for a long time. The environment for learning languages abroad is very good. You need it anytime, anywhere.

My suggestion is that you can learn some basic sentences (say hello, ask for directions, buy things) and the other person's cultural background before you go, so that you won't be confused in the future. When you arrive in Canada, you can contact the local Chinese Federation, so that you can find help in a foreign country. It is also conducive to your integration into the local society.
