How to apply for Canadian visa extension

(1) Who needs to apply for Canadian student visa renewal

If you still want to stay in Canada as a student after your study permit expires, you need to renew your study permit . CIC regulations: You must apply to renew your study 30 days before your current study permit expires. The editor reminds you that if your existing study permit expires and a new study permit has not been applied for, you can still continue to study in Canada until you get a new study permit. If your study permit is about to expire and you plan to travel during this period, please apply for renewal of your study permit in advance.

Note: The validity period of the study permit does not exceed the validity period of your passport. If your study permit expires and you have not applied for an extension, you must leave Canada.

(2) Who needs to apply for Canadian student visa change

Situation 1: If you have lost your student status and stay in Canada as a temporary resident province. Within 90 days of losing your student status, you may apply to return to student status. You can stay in Canada during the application period. However, you will not be allowed to study until your student status is restored.

Situation 2: If you change the type of study, school, study location or study time, and there is no special indication on your study permit, you need to change the study permit.

(3) Information required to apply for Canadian student visa extension and change

1. Completed Change Conditions, Extend Your Stay or Remain in Canada application form (i.e. IMM1249 Form);

2. Completed Document Checklist (i.e. IMM 5555 form);

3. Stamped payment slip (i.e. IMM 5401 form);

4. The copy of your passport must clearly show your passport number, issuance time, expiration time, your name, and date of birth. In addition, you also need copies of the page you recently entered customs and all stamped pages;

5. If you do not use a passport to enter customs, you need to provide copies of travel or other identification documents. Such as: Citizenship certificate, birth certificate, alien registration cards, etc.;

6. If you have immigration paper, please provide a copy of the immigration paper;

7. The school issued it to you Admission notice;

8. If you study in Quebec, you also need to provide a valid CAQ or CSQ.

9. Documents proving bank deposits

10. School certification materials: school registration letter or copies of transcripts for two semesters;

11. If you have a return ticket, please provide a copy;

12. If you ask an agent to apply, you also need to fill in the agent application form (i.e. IMM 5476)
