What is written on the plaque of Wenchang Pavilion in Datian County, Sanming City?

Wenchang Pavilion is located in the campus of Daejeon No.1 Middle School. It was founded in the 15th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1536). Datian ancestors recruited skilled craftsmen to worship Wenchang Emperor, and built Wenchang Pavilion between the heavy buildings in Chiyan in the south of the city. In the sixth year of Qing Emperor Kangxi, he moved to the southeast corner of Chi Pan in front of Mingluntang at the south foot of Fenghuang Mountain. In the 22nd year of Qing Qianlong (1757), it was rebuilt. At that time, Wenchang Pavilion was the tallest building in the county. Statues of Emperor Wenchang, Kuixing and Zhu are enshrined in the pavilion. Scholars of all ages worshipped him and used it as a gift to make friends with literature and compose poems.

1In August, 1984, with the care and support of the provincial and municipal departments concerned, the People's Government of Datian County moved Wenchang Pavilion in front of the Science Building of Datian No.1 Middle School to the north of Chi Pan. Wenchang Pavilion has not only been renovated, but also turned into a "Yu Xiu Garden" centered on Wenchang Pavilion.
