Why is the beaver a national treasure animal in Canada?

Beaver is an important symbol of Canadian history. It was the beaver skin trade with Indians that led to the influx of early European immigrants and made today's Canada, so it was branded with Canadian history and culture. Beaver skin is the most valuable thing, and the hat made of beaver skin is a popular luxury for European ladies and celebrities. So early explorers and immigrants from Britain and France came to North America to hunt beavers. 1678, the extremely rich Hudson's Bay Company put the beaver coat on its company coat. The Beaver magazine, founded in 1920, is still published in Canada. To commemorate the victory of 1690 in the defence of Quebec, the design of the "Canadian Medal of Freedom" issued by France is a sitting lady with a beaver at her feet. The lady represents France and the beaver represents Canada. At the same time, beaver has become the city emblem of Quebec City and Montreal City.

Last year, some members of Congress suggested that Canada's national treasure animals should be replaced by polar bears. So far, there is no conclusion.
