Changling Town was built in the late Ming Dynasty. Changling Township was established in 1972. In September 1992, Changling and Qingshi Townships were merged to form Changling Town. In September 2004, the zoning adjustment merged Liangshui Township and Luchi Village in Yousha Township. The town covers an area of ??99.4 square kilometers and governs 11 villages and 4 communities. There are 81 villager (resident) groups, 15,215 households and 40,021 people. The market town has a built-up area of ??1.62 square kilometers and a population of 15,000 people.
