Route map of South-to-North Water Transfer Project

The South-to-North Water Transfer Project is the largest water conservancy project in China, aiming at solving the water shortage problem in northern China. Since the project started in 2002, it has been basically completed after more than ten years of construction.

The South-to-North Water Transfer Project is mainly divided into three lines, namely, the central line, the eastern line and the western line. The road map and operation steps of each line will be introduced in detail below.

The central line is the main line of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, with a total length of about 177 1 km, starting from Yangzhou, Jiangsu and ending in Mentougou District, Beijing. The central line mainly passes through Jiangsu, Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Tianjin, Beijing and other six provinces and cities, with 15 water source and four regulating reservoirs.

The central line construction is mainly divided into three phases, namely the first phase from 2002 to 20 13, the second phase from 20 14 to 20 18, and the third phase from 20 19 to 2020. The first phase has been completed, the second phase is under construction, and the third phase is scheduled to be completed in 2020.

East line

The East Line is the East Line Project of South-to-North Water Diversion, with a total length of about 1.400 km, starting from Sihong, Jiangsu and ending in Qingdao, Shandong. The eastern route mainly passes through Jiangsu, Anhui and Shandong provinces, with * * water source of 10 and five regulating reservoirs.

The construction of the eastern route is divided into two phases, the first phase is from 2002 to 20 13, and the second phase is from 20 14 to 20 18. The first phase of the project has been completed and the second phase is under construction.

West line

The west line is the west branch of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, with a total length of about 1464 km, starting from Guangyuan, Sichuan and ending in Xi 'an, Shaanxi. The west line mainly passes through Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Henan and Shaanxi provinces, with water source 12 and 3 regulating reservoirs.

The construction of the west line is divided into two phases, namely, the first phase is from 2002 to 20 13, and the second phase is from 20 14 to 20 18. The first phase of the project has been completed and the second phase is under construction.
