The story behind "Blow by the cold wind for you and me"

Li Zongsheng wrote a song called "Blow by the Cold Wind for You and Me". Although it was included in Lin Yilian's album, the emotion in the song was what Li Zongsheng wanted to express.

When 26-year-old Lin Yilian and 34-year-old Li Zongsheng met, one was still a sweet and beautiful woman, and the other was already the "Father of Taiwanese Music." After cooperating with Li Zongsheng in "When Love is a Thing of the Past", Lin Yilian reached the peak of her career, and the two became romantically involved for a long time. But at that time Li Zongsheng had a family and two children.

In 1994, Li Zongsheng held a farewell concert at the Taipei Arena and invited Lin Yilian as the most important guest. Although the two liked each other, Lin Yilian could not withstand the pressure of public opinion from the outside world. She sold the real estate in Hong Kong without saying a word, broke off all cooperation with Li Zongsheng, and immigrated to Canada.

Upon learning of Lin Yilian's departure, Li Zongsheng collapsed and chased Lin Yilian to his residence in Canada. Lin Yilian didn't answer the phone and didn't open the door when she rang the doorbell. Li Zongsheng sat in the courtyard, blowing the cold wind, and waited all night.

The next morning, Lin Yilian opened the curtains and saw Li Zongsheng standing shivering in the cold wind. She burst into tears and was moved. Sitting there that night, Li Zongsheng felt inspired and wrote "Blow by the Cold Wind for You and Me".

Then the two returned to Taiwan together and released a new album "Love Sandy" in 1995. Lin Yilian performed every song to the extreme, such as "Scar", "Cold Wind Blows for You and Me", "Heard of Love" "Come Back Again" became popular throughout Southeast Asia. Sandy is Lin Yilian’s English name.

Li Zongsheng divorced his original wife in 1997 and married Lin Yilian in 1998. He originally thought that a talented man and a beautiful woman would fall in love until they grow old. Unexpectedly, they could not get over the seven-year itch after all, and chose to divorce amicably in 2004. The marriage declaration is full of poetry and picturesque, without resentment, but more of the calmness and blessing of letting go.

In 2014, Li Zongsheng sang "When Love is a Thing of the Past" with Lin Yilian at a concert. The listener was unintentional, but the singer was intentional. Before the song was finished, he was already crying.
