List of New Requirements for Studying in Canada in Autumn 202 1
Admission requirements
Canada opens its borders to international students with study visas, but the entry time cannot be earlier than 4 weeks before the start of the course. When entering the country, you need to submit a negative certificate of nucleic acid test within 72 hours. The entry place is the following four designated cities: Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Montreal. After entering the country, you need to stay in the designated hotel for 3 days for isolation and secondary nucleic acid detection. After passing the test, self-isolation will continue for 14 days, and students below 18 can be exempted from hotel isolation for 3 days.
At present, the officially recognized vaccines in Canada are Pfizer, Madena, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. If students are vaccinated outside Canada, they must complete the second dose of vaccination at least 14 days before departure, and provide the English or French version or certified translation of the vaccination certificate. At that time, the border inspectors will verify whether it is necessary to conduct nucleic acid detection and separation again.
Entry process
Fill in the customs declaration form
I believe many students have had the experience of traveling abroad. When the plane is about to arrive at its destination, the flight attendants will ask everyone to fill out the customs declaration form. It mainly involves your personal information and related customs declaration materials, so you must declare it truthfully. The customs declaration will have four parts: A, B, C and D. As an international student, you only need to fill in three parts: A (personal information and customs declaration materials), B (non-PR or citizens need to fill in) and D (personal signature).
Through customs
You can change your study permit at three major international airports in Canada, namely Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. After getting off the plane, there will be signs to the customs reception desk, and there will be rows of uniformed staff at the reception desk. At this time, hand them the customs declaration form just written on the plane and ask some simple questions, such as "Where are you from" and "How long are you going to stay in Canada". Then you will stamp your passport and mark it on the customs declaration form, return everything to you, and notify the immigration office at the airport.
Change the big sign (study permit)
It is also through the signs to find the immigration bureau and find the staff who handle the study permit here. Basic materials required: passport (visa page), school offer, proof of funds, etc. If you are afraid of omission, put all these materials together in advance for easy presentation.
Claim luggage
After getting the study permit, you can go to the baggage check-in belt to pick up your luggage. There is a baggage cart at the exit, which costs 2 Canadian dollars, or you can hire someone to take the baggage at 10. This 10 Canadian dollar has a special charging place after it is launched at the airport. Tip, of course.
Before you get your luggage ready for the exit, you will meet a staff member in uniform. You need to give him the tax return marked at the customs reception. Generally, you can't go out unless you close your head. If you need a detailed inspection, you can only open the baggage inspection. No matter what the situation is, as long as it is verified correctly, you can walk out of the exit smoothly. At this time, it can be said that the success rate is as low as Canada.
Matters needing attention
1, air ticket reservation
Every summer and around Christmas is the peak season for studying in Canada, so the general price will increase by 20% or more on the basis of the shortage of seats, especially for direct flights. You can buy a transfer ticket if you want to save money. But it should be noted that if you choose to transfer through the United States, students must hold a short-term visa in the United States! Canada mainly has 10 provinces, but generally there are only three entry points, namely Toronto, Ontario, Vancouver, BC, Montreal and Quebec. If you want to reach other cities, you must transit through the above three places.
Step 2: luggage
General airlines have their own regulations on the size and standard of luggage. Studying in Canada suggests choosing Air Canada or Cathay Pacific.
Air Canada: 2 pieces of luggage can be checked for free (the sum of the length, width and height of each piece of luggage does not exceed 158cm, and the weight of each piece of luggage does not exceed 23KG), and 1 standard article (size ≤23X40X55CM, weight ≤ 1 piece) and1piece can be carried with you.
Cathay Pacific Airways: You can check 3 pieces of luggage (the sum of the three sides of each piece of luggage cannot exceed 158cm, and the weight is less than or equal to ≤23KG) and you can carry 1 piece of hand luggage (the size is less than or equal to ≤23X36X56CM, and the weight is less than or equal to ≤7KG) for free.
Step 3 carry cash with you
Customs clearly stipulates that the cash carried in Canada should not exceed 65438 Canadian dollars +00000. If Canadian dollar cash is less than 6,543,800 yuan, but foreign currency (such as USD, RMB, etc.). ), if the total amount after conversion at the exchange rate exceeds 10000 Canadian dollars, it must be declared to the customs.
