If you refuse to leave the country, the Immigration Bureau will start the compulsory repatriation procedure, be detained by the police according to law and be deported.

If it is for other criminal reasons, the general immigration police will take people to the detention center first, then apply to the authorities for deportation, and then send them away directly after the documents are issued.
