Many ancestors of Lee Kuan Yew will go to Nanyang.
Lee Kuan Yew's great-grandfather Li Muwen (Hakka) 1862 moved to Nanyang from Tai Po, Guangdong.
This made Lee Kuan Yew one of the immigrant backgrounds of the fourth generation of Chinese Singaporeans. He is the eldest son of his mother Cai Renniang and his father Li Jinkun. He was born in a two-story villa at No.92 Bengjahua Road, Singapore. His grandfather Li Yunlong's English education made him strongly influenced by English culture since he was a child.
