Economically, the private economy here is developed and there are many small enterprises, but it is still far from the Pearl River Delta as a whole.

3. Culturally, it is Chaoshan area. Under normal circumstances, I will talk to you in Chaoshan dialect for the first time, and they are also very kind.

It may not be appropriate to say xenophobia, but compared with other parts of China, there are many locals in this area, unlike Shenzhen, where there are many immigrants.

Generally speaking, the local economy lags far behind the Pearl River Delta, with relatively backward urban construction, many small enterprises and serious environmental pollution.
