Recently, the Indonesian Immigration Bureau has stepped up the inspection of foreign citizens in Indonesia, especially illegal employment and illegal residence.

The Embassy of China in Indonesia reminds China citizens to abide by relevant laws and regulations during their employment and stay in Indonesia.

1. Understand the Indonesian visa policy and enhance the awareness of abiding by the law. Indonesia's visa-free policy, the residence permit is up to 30 days, and it cannot be extended or changed to other residence permits. For Chinese mainland residents, visa-free access is only for tourism. Indonesian visa on arrival can only be used for sightseeing, social exchanges and public performances. Business visas can only be used for business negotiations, exhibitions, public performances and other purposes, and cannot be used for work. According to Indonesia's immigration law, foreigners deliberately engage in activities that are inconsistent with the purpose and intention of applying for a residence permit, ranging from being fined (up to about $42,000) to being deported, and even being sentenced to imprisonment of up to five years.

Second, according to the actual use of visas and residence permits, avoid the phenomenon that the registration of residence permits does not match the actual residence.

3. China citizens in Indonesia are requested to abide by relevant laws and regulations and go through legal work and residence procedures. Take your passport, residence permit and other valid documents when you go out. If you use the original to go through the relevant formalities, please bring a copy.
