Legal basis: Article 9 of the Measures for the Administration of Rural Homestead stipulates that a rural villager can only own one homestead. The area standard of homestead (including ancillary buildings and courtyard land) is that cultivated land does not exceed125m2, other land does not exceed140m2, and conditional wasteland and barren slopes do not exceed160m2. The land area of homestead is limited to 75m2 for three or less farmers, four farmers 100m2, five farmers10m2, and six or more farmers 125m2. If non-cultivated land is used, each file can be increased by at most 15m2. Conditional use of barren slopes, barren hills to build houses, each file can be increased by up to 35㎡. The implementation of the transformation of old villages, down the mountain resettlement demolition area beyond the land quota of more than 20 m2, can relax a level of land quota.
