Two Japanese fleets merged in our country, causing great losses to the lives and property of local residents. Therefore, the Ming Dynasty canceled the agreement with Japan. trade with Japan, and ordered a ban on trade with Japan.

Japan had no choice but was in urgent need of silk, porcelain and other items, so it smuggled them privately with Chinese businessmen. As a result, many small businessmen in my country saw the business opportunities and rushed to enter the market to compete with Japan. After more than 20 years of private transactions, Jiajing discovered the clues and ordered their transactions to be destroyed. At this point, these small businessmen had no way out and completely became a Japanese pirate gang.

Although these small businessmen became Japanese pirates, they still had money in their hands, so they hired many Japanese samurai as helpers to take revenge on Jiajing. They have been invading the southern coastal areas of our country, so they are also considered to be Japanese pirates. And some of them are also happy to be called Japanese pirates.

So, most of the Japanese pirates during the Jiajing period were Chinese, that is, small businessmen doing smuggling transactions at that time.
