What is Lingnan?

It is the floorboard of the area south of Wuling in southern China, which is separated from the inland by Wuling. Wuling consists of five mountains: Yuechengling, Dupangling, Mengzhuling, Qitianling and Dayuling, which are generally distributed at the junction of eastern Guangxi, eastern Guangdong and Hunan and Jiangxi provinces. Historically, it includes Guangdong (including Hainan, Hong Kong and Macao), Guangxi and parts of eastern Yunnan Province and southwestern Fujian Province.

Lingnan culture consists of four parts: root culture (language identity culture), Baiyue culture (inherent local culture), Central Plains culture (northern culture moving south) and overseas culture (foreign culture), with rich and colorful connotations.

A large number of cultural relics have been unearthed in modern times, which proves that Lingnan had brilliant Neolithic and Bronze Age civilizations before Qin Dynasty, and it is one of the cradles of Chinese civilization.

Lingnan nationality:

Lingnan has been inhabited by ancestors since ancient times. In the pre-Qin period, the tribes along the coast south of the Yangtze River were often called "Yue" in ancient books and "Baiyue" in literature, including wuyue, Fujian, Yangyue, Nanyue, Ou and Luoyue. Lingnan area belongs to Nanyue, Xiou and Luoyue.

South Vietnam evolved into the Han, Zhuang, Yao and She nationalities in Guangdong today, while Ou and Luoyue evolved into Zhuang, Yao, Li, Buyi, Dai, Dong, She, Gelao, Maonan, Jing, Mulao and Shui nationalities in Guangxi, Hainan and Southwest China today. In the historical development, there are also immigrants moving south to integrate.

Guangdong Province is a province with 56 ethnic groups. The Han nationality mainly includes Guangfu, Hakka and Minnan. Guangxi is a minority autonomous region with Zhuang as the main body, and it is also the province (region) with the largest minority population in China. There are 12 ethnic groups living in the territory, including Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao, Dong, Mulao, Maonan, Hui, Beijing, Yi, Shui and Gelao.
