Hongsibao Development Zone is a new type of eco-immigrant poverty alleviation development zone established in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China. It is used to resettle the poor people in Tongxin, Haiyuan, Yuanzhou, Pengyang, Xiji, Longde, Jingyuan and Zhongning counties in the mountainous areas of southern Ningxia. Hongsibao Development Zone started development and construction on 1998, and was placed under the jurisdiction of Wuzhong at the prefecture level in 2002. By 2008, it has formed a scale with a total area of 1.999. 1.2 square kilometers and a population of 1.94 million (of which the Hui nationality accounts for 57%). Jurisdiction over 2 towns and 2 townships, namely Hongsibao Town, Taiyangshan Town, Dahe Township, Nanchuan Township and 40 administrative villages.
