Why can passport processing be found at the immigration office?

On June 5438+February 3 1, the National Immigration Bureau opened the overseas Chinese passport inquiry service. This service is another latest measure taken by the National Immigration Bureau to promote the application of entry and exit documents, which will facilitate China citizens who have settled abroad to use their passports to handle affairs in China.

According to Article 14 of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on Exit and Entry Administration, China citizens who have settled abroad can use their passports to prove their identity when handling domestic affairs. It is understood that some China citizens who have settled abroad have a lot of inconvenience in handling relevant affairs after returning to China because they do not have a mainland hukou and a resident identity card. To solve this problem, the National Immigration Bureau will provide the following convenient services for overseas Chinese with passports from 20 19 12 3 1:

1. Relevant service agencies can access the application system of the entry-exit certificate authentication platform of the National Immigration Bureau for online inquiry and obtain results;

2. Overseas China individuals can make inquiries through the "China Citizen Passport Inquiry" module of the government service platform of the National Immigration Bureau, and automatically obtain the electronic files of the inquiry results for related business.

The relevant person in charge of the National Immigration Bureau said that according to the Electronic Signature Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Regulations on the Openness of Government Information of People's Republic of China (PRC), the electronic documents of the inquiry results obtained by overseas Chinese individuals through the above channels have been electronically signed by the National Immigration Bureau and have the same effect as similar paper documents, and overseas Chinese can show or provide them to relevant service agencies.
