The history of Xincuo Town

Xincuo Town and the Xincuo area have been part of Putian County since the establishment of Putian County, and have been part of Fuqing County for thousands of years. Tens of thousands of Putian people have lived in it since ancient times. In the Song Dynasty, it was transferred from Putian County to Fuqing. Putian County has always been bounded by Suanling in the north of Xincuo Town and Fuqing County. Putian dialect has been spoken in this area since ancient times. Most of Xincuo still speaks Putian dialect today. It is part of the Putian dialect area. It is located at the northeastern end of Putian and was originally Putian. Northeastern gate. Not only is Putian dialect spoken here, but also some villages to the west and east of the towns to the north and east of the town also speak Putian dialect. These people are actually Putian people rather than Fuqing people: the same situation is also found in Yidu Town, which has been affiliated to Yongtai since ancient times. The county was also assigned to Fuqing in 1958 because of Fuqing's development of industry and agriculture. The people in Yidu Town are actually Yongtai people, while the people in Xincuo Town and Yidu Town can only be nominally Fuqing people at best. For example, some Putian dialect areas around the town: some villages in Yuxi Town, some Shuitou Village, some Jianxin Village, some Sutian Village, Zhongqian Village Matouqi Natural Village, Liucuo Village Shitangding Natural Village, Nansheng Village, Shuangdun Part of Xincuo Village; Cuihou Village, Lingxia Village, Jinzhi Village, Shuangxi Village, Luling Village, Jianshan Village, Yulin Village in Dongzhang Town; Luohan Natural Village and Niaoluo Mountain; Duntou, Dongfeng, Jingyang Town Liyang, Yupu, Xiashi, Fushan, part of Changzheng Village, part of Jingyang Village, part of Beizhang Village, part of Qianzhang Village; Lingkou Natural Village of Yunzhong Village, Yinxi Street; parts of Maimai Village and Xiashi Village in Jiangyin Town. The original Sutianli and Anxiangli of Putian County were ceded to Fuqing County in the Ming Dynasty. Putian County was established in 568, while Fuqing County was established more than 130 years after Putian County was established. Putian County was not established from Fuqing County. On the contrary, some places to the west and south of Fuqing County were separated from Putian County. So it is nominally located in the southwest of Fuqing City, separated by a bridge from Jiangkou Town in Putian City, connected by mountains and rivers, and adjacent to the Xinghua Bay in the east; Guangxian Township was established in 1910, Xincuo Commune was established in 1961, and the town was established in 1992. It is adjacent to Yuxi Town in the northwest and faces Jiangyin Town across Xigang in the east. It covers an area of ??73.65 square kilometers and has a population of 26,200 (at the end of 2004). It has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages.
