(1) There is a couplet at the middle gate of the ancestor worship garden in Hongdong County: "Look up where the stork nest is, and sit and tell the story of the mulberry." What this couplet says is that the little toes of all the descendants of the big locust tree are complex (that is, the toenails are divided into two petals). There is a reason for this.

It is said that during the Ming Dynasty's immigration, people missed their hometown and didn't want to leave. Even when they got to the road, they often ran away. The officers and men found a way to make the relocated people take off their shoes and socks and cut a knife on everyone's little toe. On the one hand, the foot was injured, and the immigrants could not run fast if they wanted to escape.
