Hong Kong is a free trade port.

if a free trade port is located within the territory of a country or region and outside the customs control checkpoints, foreign goods and funds are allowed to enter and exit freely. All or most of the goods entering and leaving the port area are exempted from customs duties, and business activities such as free storage, exhibition, disassembly, modification, repackaging, sorting, processing and manufacturing of goods are allowed in the free port.

At present, Singapore Port and China Hong Kong, which rank first and second in the world in terms of container port transit volume, all implement the free port policy to attract a large number of containers to transit and establish their position as the world container center hub.
