Where is Danzhou from?

Danzhou City is located in the northwest of Hainan Island, near the Beibu Gulf, with east longitude 109.5 and north latitude 19.5, with a land area of 3,265 square kilometers and a population of 890,000. The city government is located in that big town. Danzhou is a county-level city with the largest land area and the largest population in Hainan Province, and it is also the economic, transportation, communication and cultural center of western Hainan. Hainan Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences and South China University of Tropical Agriculture are all in its territory. Danzhou folk customs are thick and rough, and the ancient style still exists. Under the influence of the good cultural atmosphere brought by Su Dongpo, people here love to sing poems about Taiwan, which makes Danzhou known as "the hometown of poetry and the ocean of songs" and there are many folk poetry clubs.

During the revolutionary war years, people wrote anti-Japanese articles with folk songs and tunes, which played a great role in propaganda and agitation. Now, every year on the 16th of the first month and 15th of August, young men and women in central and northern Danzhou wear uniform clothes and gather on the hillside or the beach to hold singing competitions. They tune their songs, express their pursuit of beautiful love and praise life. Danzhou has a clear rhythm and a smooth and lively melody, which is deeply loved by the masses. After liberation, groups of musicians came to Danzhou to collect folk songs and reveled in melodious music.

Danzhou has beautiful scenery and rich natural and tourism resources. Danzhou's forest resources rank first in the province, with a forest area of 1 10,000 hectares. Rare tree species resources are second to none, and only the Botanical Garden of South China Thermal Engineering Research Institute has preserved thousands of rare tree species. There are still a number of tourism resources to be developed in Dongpo Academy, Tropical Botanical Garden, Yanglan Hot Spring and Guangcun Silver Beach, which are famous tourist attractions in Danzhou. Danzhou dialect is complex, including Hakka dialect, Cantonese dialect, military dialect, village dialect, Lingao dialect and Li dialect, which embodies the characteristics of Hainan immigrants and shows different folk customs from the East.
