Where is Gushao Prefecture?

Today is Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province.

In the ninth year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty, Hengzhou in the east was renamed Shaozhou, which governed Qujiang County (now west of Nanwushui in Shaoguan, Guangdong), and was abolished in the eleventh year of Emperor Kai. In the first year of Tang Zhenguan, Tianbao was renamed Shixing County, and Gan Yuan was renamed Shaozhou in the first year. Shaozhou Road was changed to the 15th year of Yuan Dynasty. In the first year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed Shaozhou Prefecture, still in Qujiang County (now Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province).

In addition, there is a short-lived Shaozhou, which was established in the late Jin Dynasty. Located in Mianchi County (now Mianchi, Henan Province), it was abandoned in eight years from Yuan to Yuan.
