China students from Huaqiao College.

There are about 80- 100 international students from China in each session of Huaqiao Middle School. Some of these international students were recruited in China by the SM 1/JM3 Scholarship Program of the Ministry of Education of Singapore, and some came to Singapore to study or immigrate at their own expense.

The SM 1 scholarship provided by the Ministry of Education of Singapore is a four-year scholarship with no service requirements, and is offered to outstanding junior three graduates from domestic counterpart middle schools. Starting from Form 3, these students will take the A-level exam after completing four years of study in Singapore to enter local universities in Britain, the United States or Singapore.

1996 Huaqiao Middle School began to accept foreign students from Wuxi Da Qiao Experimental Middle School. Besides, Huaqiao Middle School, together with the opposite Nanyang Girls' Middle School, enrolled students in some key middle schools in Ningbo, Shenyang, Jiaxing, Mianyang, Beijing and Shanghai. There may be changes in counterpart middle schools and cities.
