Do I need a visa to travel to Cape Town?

Applicants need to prepare:

1. Passport is valid for 30 days after the expected visit. Passport has at least two blank pages (one with visa and one with immigration stamp). The original passport and copies of all relevant pages are required.

2. Two 2-inch color photos with white background.

3. Fill in the complete BI-84 form.

4. Vaccination certificate, if required by law (see yellow fever area).

5. Financial proof that you can pay the expected living expenses during your stay in South Africa. You can provide bank deposit certificate, payroll, commitment letter from South African inviter, scholarship, medical insurance certificate, or proof that you can use cash, including credit card statement or traveler's check.

6. Applicants who travel by air need to provide a round-trip or third-country air ticket reservation form. There is no need for fixed travel arrangements before the visa is issued.

7. Applicants who do not meet the above application conditions will be required to pay a deposit. The deposit can be refunded after the applicant finally leaves South Africa or obtains a permit issued in accordance with Article 25 of the South African Immigration Act. The deposit can be paid by bank guarantee, check or cash.

8. If the applicant is accompanied by a minor who needs guardianship, or wants to live together in South Africa, he must provide a guardianship certificate (right).

9. For unaccompanied minors, both parents should provide guardianship authorization.

10. Explain or record the visit purpose and stay time.
