Suide County is located in the north of Shaanxi Province, downstream of the Wuding River. Geographical coordinates are north latitude11004'-110/',and north latitude 3716'-37 45'. It faces Wubao in the east, Zizhou in the west, Qingjian in the south, Mizhi in the north, Jiaxian in the northeast and Liulin County in Shanxi Province in the southeast across the river. The county is 56 kilometers wide from east to west and 5 1.8 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of 1.848 square kilometers. The ancient city of Suide is surrounded by rugged rocks, and the county seat is located between Erlang Mountain and Shushu gentle slope. Wuding River and Dali River surround the south of the city. Suide, located in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, the birthplace of the Chinese nation, has a long history and established its capital earlier. It plays an important role in politics, economy, culture, military affairs and transportation in northern Shaanxi. According to the textual research of many Yangshao and Longshan cultural sites unearthed in China, the ancestors of the Chinese nation flourished here about five or six thousand years ago. The name of "Suide" began in the Northern Dynasties, meaning "Suimin takes virtue". Suide was the land of Wulong in ancient times. The Xia and Shang Dynasties were the land of Yongzhou. During the Spring and Autumn Period, it belonged to the State of Jin, and during the Warring States Period, Wei and Qin established a county. The Han Dynasty was located along the Qin Dynasty, and Xiang Yu, the king of Chu, changed the county to Zhai Guo. During the Three Kingdoms and the Jin Dynasty, it was state-owned land. Wei Ping, Zheng He, Shang County, Anning County and Longquan County were set up from the Northern Dynasty to the Sui and Tang Dynasties, and Suizhou, Anning County and Tiaoyin County were set up side by side. From the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms to the seventh year of Taiping and Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty (982), it was occupied by Hou Liang, Later Tang, Later Jin, Later Han, Later Zhou and Xixia. In the second year of Song Dynasty (1099), the Suide Army was established, with jurisdiction over 33 cities, villages, customs and fortresses. In the early Ming Dynasty, Hongwu set up Yansui Town in Suide, in charge of Yan 'an, Suide, Dongsheng and Qingyang.
