The story in My Pain is full of spiritual paradoxes and ethical dilemmas, the most shocking of which is Mother, which is about the ethical dilemma that is closely related to everyone-should her children be saved when the mother is tortured by the disease? In the story, the mother decided to give up her life because of the pain of making people lose their dignity, but the three daughters could not bear the crime of unfilial, but tried their best to save their mother. As a result, my mother is always struggling with the edge of death and the pain after first aid. Finally, the daughters chose to give up, but when it came time to stop oxygen for their mother, it was heartbreaking. The man who cut off the oxygen is the murderer. This is a dilemma. This story is full of a middle-aged man's feelings about life and affection, and it is a kind of pain and desolation that he can't understand. Because of this understanding, excellent sentences can be seen everywhere in the novel, and many details do not slowly enter the reading field of vision, but directly enter people's hearts, allowing us to reflect on our situation.

My Pain was once a work on the list of novels of the Chinese Fiction Society. The author Chen Xi Wo was nominated for the "Chinese Literature Media Award" five times, and The Economist magazine called him a "maverick writer".

Chen Xi Wo has always been a marginalized image in people's minds. In his works, he always pays attention to the marginalized people in our society, bravely faces the existing problems and never evades them-so much so that many readers think his works are "too depressed".

At the same time, he also has many widely circulated "amazing" remarks. For example, "literature is disgusting", "literature is not a good thing, and writers are not good people, so please don't come near me" ... but it is this brave "marginal writer" who won the People's Literature Award of Maotai Cup in 2006.
