The Origin of Duan Family in Tangkou Village, Xiyuan Township, Duchang, Jiangxi Province

Duan's family in Tangkou Village, Xiyuan Township, Duchang County, Jiangxi Province, as far as duang in Poyang (now Poyang) Plain is concerned, the descendants of Duan Jian in the late Sui and early Tang Dynasties are more numerous. Duan Jian's ancestors lived in fengqiu county, Henan. Duan Jian was appointed as a judge in Raozhou Prefecture, Jiangxi Province by virtue of his Jinshi background. He has three sons: the firstborn is pure, the second is right, and the third is middle. Zhichun moved to Shexian County, Anhui Province, Zhizheng moved to Ruicheng, Shanxi Province, and stayed in Poyang in China. After the third generation, some descendants returned to Henan or went to Shanxi and Shandong to be officials. Up to now, the descendants of Zhizhong are mainly distributed in Boyang, Duchang, Hukou, Pengze, Leping, Yugan, Wannian and other counties around Poyang Lake. Some have moved to Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu and other provinces.

There is another ancestor in Jiangxi who entered Jiangxi before Duan Jian. He is Duan Huang in the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Duan Huang was appointed as the secretariat of Yuanzhou (Yichun, Jiangxi) in the first year of Song Jinghe in the Southern Dynasties, and his family moved to Yuanzhou. Yuan Zhou was finally buried. Duang has always been the surname of Yichun.

Duan Wenchang's descendants once lived in Jingnan and southeastern Sichuan. Later, Duan Chengshi, the son of Duan Wenchang, was appointed as the secretariat of Luling (Ji 'an, Jiangxi), and was dismissed from his post and retired to Xiangyang. After his brother Duan Cheng only retired from the officialdom, both brothers moved to Poyang. Their descendants, Duan Shengtian, Duan Shengyun (two brothers of Duan Chengshi compatriots) and their descendants compiled genealogy in Poyang * * * in the second year of Kaiping in Houliang (98), and they were only the ancestors of Duan's family in Poyang West Lake School. After the music was revised, Sheng Tian took his four sons Anda, An Jing, An Li and An Shou to live in Tianshizhuang, Qing 'an Township, Taihe County, Jiangxi Province in 934. Prior to this, Shengyun asked his eldest son Anfu to move to Qing 'an Township, Taihe County before his uncle Shengtian in the second year of Guanghua in the later Tang Dynasty (899). Duan Shengyun himself moved to Taihe with his brother Shengtian in the first year. Duan Yi, a descendant of Cheng Cheng, was the father of Duan in Yongxin County, Jiangxi Province. This duang ethnic group regards Uncle Duan as the ancestor, and its clear ancestral origin is from Wuwei. Later, the descendants of duang also moved to Hunan and Hubei.
