What do you mean by Shanghainese? Come and pinch a dustpan.
Most of the ten districts in Shanghai before 1984 were originally part of Shanghai County, Songjiang Prefecture. The central area of Heather City was originally the county seat of Shanghai Beach County in Songjiang District. 1843 After the urban area was turned into a trading port, a large number of immigrants poured in during the years of 100. 1852 At that time, the total population of Shanghai county, including Shanghai county, was 5444 13. One hundred years later, there are147,600 in the urban area alone, of which the local population only accounts for 15% of the total population. Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Statistics 1980. After the opening of Shanghai, a large number of immigrants poured into various places, and the language of immigrants had a certain influence on Shanghai dialect, especially Ningbo dialect. Because Ningbo has a large population and high social status, the first-person plural "Allah" in Shanghai dialect now comes from Ningbo dialect. The new Shanghai dialect inherits the basic features of the old Shanghai dialect and integrates the mainstream features of northern Wu dialect, becoming the fastest-growing dialect in Wu dialect area of Taihu Lake.
Shanghai once belonged to Songjiang prefecture, and Songjiang prefecture once belonged to Jiaxing. Jiaxing dialect is the main language. After the establishment of Songjiang prefecture, Songjiang dialect developed independently on the basis of Jiaxing dialect, which was relatively backward in Wu dialect. According to the Records of Songjiang Prefecture, it was recorded in the Ming Dynasty that "officials valued Shanghai more than Jiaxing". In the Qing dynasty, it was "the government attached importance to Shanghai and despised Suzhou". Suzhou dialect also has an important influence on Shanghai dialect because of its authority and rich literary forms, such as Wu's novels, legends, tanci and folk songs. It is the result of the simplification of Shanghai dialect, and it has become the "greatest common denominator" and one of the representative sounds of Wu dialect in various places. The pronunciation, vocabulary and grammatical structure of Shanghai dialect are very easy for other Wu speakers to understand. Therefore, Shanghai dialect has the foundation and trend of becoming the lingua franca of Wu dialect, at least in the northern Wu dialect area, and once became the lingua franca of the Yangtze River Delta region before the 1980s. At present, due to the popularization of Putonghua, the influence of Shanghai dialect in Wu dialect area has declined, mainly because the compulsory popularization of Putonghua makes Putonghua replace dialects as the main communication tool.
