Hydropower migration problem

The Three Gorges Project was officially approved on 1992. Initially, only about 300,000 people planned to immigrate them. At that time, the Three Gorges Project was actually not optimistic. In fact, China is a poor country with per capita water shortage. In many parts of China, some people can't even drink clean water, so they have to take water from far away and take it home. However, in some places, they were tortured by floods in June and July. Faced with this phenomenon, the Three Gorges Project is definitely the best way to solve this phenomenon. But based on this method, there are various problems in this big project. In this special period when the Three Gorges Reservoir was planned to be built, the economic level of China was not high at that time, and the establishment of such a large hydropower project was entirely dependent on the state finance, while the national economic situation was not good at that time. In addition, the Three Gorges Project can not be solved only by building a reservoir. At the same time, they have to solve the resettlement problem of 1 tens of thousands of immigrants.

Due to both advantages and disadvantages, the Three Gorges Project has been launched vigorously. The storage capacity of reservoirs represents the ability of human beings to control the contradiction of uneven distribution of natural water resources in time and space, and it is a very critical and important method to solve many problems in front of people. However, there are significant differences in water storage capacity between China and developed countries. For example, China and the United States have almost the same land area and total surface runoff, but the total reservoir capacity in the United States is 1.6 times that of China, and the number of large reservoirs in the United States is 12 times that of China. It is precisely because there are more and bigger reservoirs that European and American countries can resist more dry weather and absorb more floods. The level of a country's water resources control ability is very important to this country, so the Three Gorges Project is also an imperative project in China.
