Can a Hong Kong driver's license be used in Canada?

It was learned from the Ontario Department of Transportation that since February 25, 2005, when accepting the application of the holder of the original country of residence to change the Canadian driver's license, the Ontario Department of Transportation no longer accepted and recognized the translation certificate of the driver's license issued by the Ontario Translators Association (ATIO), but asked the applicant to provide the notarized certificate of the driver's license issued by the notary office of the original country of residence.

Since Hong Kong belonged to the Commonwealth in the early days, it can be redeemed directly.

People from Chinese mainland can apply for the replacement of Canadian driver's license with China driver's license, and they can provide notarized driver's license certificate (with English translation) issued by a Chinese notary office.

The relevant authorities in Ontario accepting driver's license applications agree to accept and recognize the notarial certificate of driver's license with English translation issued by the notary office of China government, and it is not necessary to be certified by our Consulate General to hold the above notarial certificate. Applicants who have no driver's license can entrust their relatives and friends in China to act as agents. According to relevant laws and regulations, a driver's license obtained in China must be notarized by a domestic notary machine.
