Introduction to Hepo Town

Hepo Town was changed to Hepo Street in 2006. It is located in the central and western part of Jiexi County. It is the political, economic and cultural center of Jiexi County, covering an area of ??102 square kilometers, of which the urban area is 6 square miles. There are more than 60,000 acres of cultivated land and more than 80,000 acres of mountainous land. It has 26 administrative villages and 9 communities under its jurisdiction. The total population is 132,628 people, including 49,877 agricultural people and 82,751 non-agricultural people. There are more than 80,000 overseas Chinese living in the town, making it a famous hometown of overseas Chinese in the country. Zhangmulin Township, Zhaoping County, Hezhou, Guangxi, Guihui Town, Shatian Town, Pinggui Management District, and many other areas in Hezhou City, and the Cai family of Zhangmutou Town, Dongguan are all Hepo Hakkas who migrated from Hepo during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are approximately 700,000 to 800,000 descendants of the Hepo people who moved to various parts of Guangdong and Guangxi. To this day, they still maintain the complete Hepo Hakka accent and cultural customs.
