Our custom here is that people are buried three years after death. Does anyone know what it's called? I have one at home, and I'm asking for leave now. I don't know what reason to write.
So what kind of unknown history is hidden behind this unique funeral custom? How is it formed?
In August of the 21st year of Yuan Dynasty (136 1), in the battle of Zhu Yuanzhang's unification of the south of the Yangtze River, an extremely fierce war broke out with Zhang Shicheng army of Chen Youliang in Anqing and Jiangzhou (now Jiujiang, Jiangxi), the military stronghold along the river. After a fierce and bloody contest between the two sides, Zhu Yuanzhang finally won, but the war caused great damage to Anqing area, with heavy casualties and a large number of barren fields. After Zhu Yuanzhang unified the world and established the Great Ming Dynasty, most of the land in the south of the Yangtze River was occupied by powerful landlords. They are intertwined and powerful at the local level, and they also oppress farmers excessively, which not only competes with the state for tax sources, but also is not conducive to economic recovery. In order to break the powerful clan forces in the south of the Yangtze River, restore the production and develop the economy, and consolidate the rule, Zhu Yuanzhang issued an "Immigration Order", which forced a large number of people in the south of the Yangtze River to move to Jiangbei for land reclamation, and was not allowed to move back to their original places, cutting off all ties between immigrants and their original places. It was called "Hongwu Chongjun" in history.
In this large-scale immigration movement, a large number of Jiangxi immigrants near Anqing moved into Anqing. According to Zhu Shu, a scholar of Tongcheng School in the early Qing Dynasty, "Since the Yuan Dynasty, Anhui people have not been ancient Anhui people, but migrated from Jiangxi. The people who moved from other provincial capitals were wrong, and the indigenous people were only eleven or two ears. " After a large number of Jiangxi immigrants arrived in Anqing, they were told by the court that they were not allowed to move back to their original places, nor were their brothers and relatives allowed to contact each other, otherwise they would be severely punished. However, these migrant centers who have left their homes have always had the illusion that they can return to their hometown one day. Therefore, after the death of the old immigrant, the coffin was temporarily buried in the wild according to the wishes of the deceased, hoping to return to his hometown one day. Because the government's policy of forcing immigrants not to move back to their hometowns has never been loosened, the dream of immigrants returning to their hometowns has gradually been shattered in the ruthless passage of time, and the coffins that were temporarily buried have to be buried in the end.
In this way, this kind of funeral way that immigrants miss their hometown infinitely has gradually become a unique custom in Anqing, their hometown, and it has been used ever since!
