The origin of Shaoshui

Shaoshui, which originated in Nanchong at the northwest foot of Huilongfeng in Shuangfeng Township, Shaodong County, passes through Zhouguanqiao, Shiliang Town, Niumashi, Dutouqiao Town and Yunshuipu Township and joins Zijiang River on the right bank of Jiang Yan Bridge in Shaoyang City.

According to ancient records: "Shaoshui originated in Longshan (now Longshan in Xinshao County). Xixi will flow to Tongjiang and Tanjiang and inject water into the east of Baoqing County, Hunan Province.

According to local records, Shaoshui comes from five places:

1. Tongjiang originates from Nanchong at the northwest foot of Huilongfeng in Shuangfeng Township, Shaodong County, flows through Zhouguanqiao, Liangshitang, Niumashi and Yunshuipu Township, and joins Zijiang River on the right bank of Jiangyan Bridge in Shaoyang City.

2. Tanjiang River, which originates from the south foot of Jianmuling in Dong 'an County, enters the city at jiepai Bridge in Wufengpu Town of Shaoyang County, passes through Wufengpu, Zhonghe, Xiahuaqiao and Guzhou Township in Tanjiang Township in the suburbs, and flows into Shaoshui from the left bank of Shuangjiangkou;

3. Chajiang River, which originates from Lijiaping, Shaoyang County, passes through Cunninghamia Bridge, Huangjiaba Reservoir and Xianchaqiao Town, Shaodong County, and flows into Shaoshui from the left bank in Xiaojia Village;

4. Xiyang River, originating from Yueping Peak in Xinshao County, flows through Taizhi Temple, Tanfu, Chenxiang and Fanjiashan Town in Shaodong County, and flows into Shaoshui from the right bank of Laolongtan;

5. Shiba River originates from Wuxi, Xinshao, and flows from Shuanghe Huixinshao Chenfangjia to Shuangquanpu, passing through Mahuchong, Heitianpu, Huangjiang, Tom, Qiao Liu and Niumashi, and flows into Shaoshui from the right bank.
