The Historical Origin of Maying Village

At the end of Sui Dynasty and the beginning of Tang Dynasty, it was once the training base for military horses of Li Shimin of Emperor Taizong. Hence the name "Ma Ying".

According to the Li Family Tree, an ancestor of the Li family in Luoyang moved from the pagoda tree in Hongdong, Shanxi Province to Ximaying Village in Luoyang County in the third year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1370). It has been handed down for twenty-four generations, and the village has a history of at least six hundred years. In the Ming dynasty, some people served as three-day officials (ministers in the official department), while others served as deputy ministers and prime ministers. According to Li's "The Origin of Li in Yangxin, Hubei Province", the genealogy of Maying Village in Sunqitun Township, Luoyang is: "Jin Yueqing, recruiting sages and auspicious, spreading books, and being brilliant for ever." [Migration] Li's birthplace is in Hongdong Village, Shanxi Province today.

In addition, in 1930s, several immigrants from surnamed tang migrated here from Tangjiayu, Mengyin County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, in order to avoid war and famine, and were warmly received by the villagers and settled down. Up to now, they have grown to more than 40 people.
