2. 3. Submit the applicant's resident identity card (except for those under 0/6 years old who have not applied for a resident identity card) and the original residence booklet, and submit a copy. /kloc-citizens under the age of 0/8 who are accompanied by guardians must submit the opinions issued by guardians to allow them to settle in Hong Kong or Macao, submit household registration books, birth medical certificates, original guardian ID cards and other guardianship certificates, and submit copies.

4. For children who take care of their parents, submit their parents' marriage certificate, parents' relationship certificate, parents' childless certificate in Hong Kong or Macao, parents' statement that they agree to settle in Hong Kong or Macao, and other brothers and sisters' statement that the applicant agrees to settle in Hong Kong or Macao and voluntarily gives up settling in Hong Kong or Macao to take care of their parents.

5. If parents take refuge in their children, they shall submit their parents' marriage certificates, parents' relationship certificates, children whose parents are not in the Mainland, and a statement that children from Hong Kong and Macao agree to settle in Hong Kong or Macao and fulfill their maintenance obligations.

6. If the applicant and his relatives from Hong Kong and Macao who intend to reunite are adopted, a legally binding certificate of adoption relationship shall be provided.

7. Other supporting materials deemed necessary by the exit-entry administrative department of public security.

The Interim Measures for the Administration of China Citizens' Private Travel to or from Hongkong or Macao stipulates that:

Article 7 An applicant may apply to settle in Hong Kong or Macao under any of the following circumstances:

(1) One of the spouses has settled in Hong Kong or Macao and has been separated for many years;

(2) Parents who have settled in Hong Kong and Macao are old and infirm and must be taken care of by mainland children;

(three) the elderly and children who are helpless in the mainland have to rely on their immediate family members and close relatives in Hong Kong and Macao;

(four) the immediate family members who have settled in Hong Kong and Macao have no inheritance, and they must be inherited by the children who have settled in the Mainland;

(five) there are other special circumstances that must be solved.

Twelfth mainland citizens who have been approved to settle in Hong Kong and Macao shall be issued a pass to Hong Kong and Macao by the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ.
