How to obtain a permanent residence permit or green card in Hong Kong?

1. Submit the Application Form for Mainland Residents to Settle in Hong Kong or Macao. Children of Hong Kong permanent residents submit an application form for China children born to Hong Kong permanent residents in the Mainland to settle in Hong Kong.

2. Submit photos of the applicant and relevant personnel from Hong Kong and Macao that meet the standards of the Guidelines for Photographing Entry and Exit Documents, and the children of Hong Kong permanent residents should also submit photos of their mainland parents that meet the standards of the Guidelines for Photographing Entry and Exit Documents.

3. Submit the applicant's resident identity card (except for those under 0/6 years old who have not applied for a resident identity card) and the original residence booklet, and submit a copy. /kloc-citizens under the age of 0/8 who are accompanied by guardians must submit the opinions issued by guardians to allow them to settle in Hong Kong or Macao, submit household registration books, birth medical certificates, original guardian ID cards and other guardianship certificates, and submit copies.

4. Submit the original identity card of Hong Kong or Macao residents and the Mainland Pass for Hong Kong and Macao residents for inspection by relevant parties in Hong Kong and Macao, and submit a copy.

If the persons involved in Hong Kong and Macao are of foreign nationality, the original permanent identity card and foreign passport of Hong Kong or Macao shall be submitted for examination, and a copy shall be submitted; If the persons involved in Hong Kong and Macao are stateless, submit the permanent identity card of Hong Kong or Macao and the identity certificate of Hong Kong visa, and submit a copy.

5. State functionaries (including those engaged in public service in state organs, state-owned companies, enterprises, institutions and social organizations, and other persons engaged in public service according to law) shall, in accordance with the personnel management authority, submit the opinions issued by their units or higher-level competent units agreeing to settle in Hong Kong and Macao.

1. 3. If the children take refuge in their parents, submit their parents' marriage certificate and proof of the relationship between parents and children. If a child born out of wedlock or his parents are divorced, he/she shall submit a legal and valid certificate of being raised by his/her father (mother) who has settled in Hong Kong or Macao, and a statement that his/her guardian agrees to settle in Hong Kong or Macao.

4. For children who take care of their parents, submit their parents' marriage certificate, parents' relationship certificate, parents' childless certificate in Hong Kong or Macao, parents' statement that they agree to settle in Hong Kong or Macao, and other brothers and sisters' statement that the applicant agrees to settle in Hong Kong or Macao and voluntarily gives up settling in Hong Kong or Macao to take care of their parents.

5. If parents take refuge in their children, they shall submit their parents' marriage certificates, parents' relationship certificates, children whose parents are not in the Mainland, and a statement that children from Hong Kong and Macao agree to settle in Hong Kong or Macao and fulfill their maintenance obligations.

6. If the applicant and his relatives from Hong Kong and Macao who intend to reunite are adopted, a legally binding certificate of adoption relationship shall be provided.

7. Other supporting materials deemed necessary by the exit-entry administrative department of public security.

The Interim Measures for the Administration of China Citizens' Private Travel to or from Hongkong or Macao stipulates that:

Article 7 An applicant may apply to settle in Hong Kong or Macao under any of the following circumstances:

(1) One of the spouses has settled in Hong Kong or Macao and has been separated for many years;

(2) Parents who have settled in Hong Kong and Macao are old and infirm and must be taken care of by mainland children;

(three) the elderly and children who are helpless in the mainland have to rely on their immediate family members and close relatives in Hong Kong and Macao;

(four) the immediate family members who have settled in Hong Kong and Macao have no inheritance, and they must be inherited by the children who have settled in the Mainland;

(five) there are other special circumstances that must be solved.

Twelfth mainland citizens who have been approved to settle in Hong Kong and Macao shall be issued a pass to Hong Kong and Macao by the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ. The holder shall cancel the account at the local police station before going to Hong Kong and Macao, and go to Hong Kong and Macao within the specified time.

Twentieth in any of the following circumstances, the frontier inspection station has the right to stop the exit and entry:

(1) Failing to hold a passport to and from Hong Kong and Macao, a home visit permit for Hong Kong and Macao compatriots or other valid documents;
