Zhongmu Yanming Lake, Zhengzhou, Henan Province is located between Kaifeng and the ancient capital Zhengzhou, with an area of 4,000 mu, with the old capital of the Yellow River in the north, Dongzhang National Forest Park in zhongmou county in the south, and Humeng Lake and Sister Lake across the river.

Zhongmu Yanming Lake Ecological Scenic Area is a national 2A-level scenic spot with a total area of more than 6,000 mu, of which the water surface area accounts for 4,000 mu. It is a combination of man-made and nature, integrating forest, lake and wetland. There are 50 birds and hundreds of acres of reeds living here. The scenic spot is located in the north of zhongmou county, 35km from Zhengzhou in the west, 20km from Kaifeng in the east, 20km from the county seat in the south, 7km from Ryan Avenue and 6km from the Yellow River in the north.

Provincial Highway 223 (Middle East Highway) passes through the scenic spot and connects with zhongmou county. The lower crossing of Lianhuo Expressway is only 2 kilometers away from the scenic spot, and the Yellow River levee, 3 kilometers north, is another important passage connecting Zhengzhou and Kaifeng. Visitors can take the Ryan intercity bus from Zhengzhou and get off at Yanming Lake.

Yanming Lake Scenic Area was once a grit chamber of the Yellow River Diversion Project. After the completion of Xiaolangdi Reservoir, the functions of irrigation and sediment deposition in Yanming Lake gradually declined, and wetland lakes gradually formed due to sediment deposition in lowlands. The growth of a large area of reeds attracted wild geese to inhabit, and was later named Yanming Lake. At present, it is the largest water area and wetland in the east of Zhengzhou. The whole lake area consists of three parts: East Lake, Middle Lake and West Lake.

Food in Zhongmu Yanming Lake Ecological Scenic Area: Hairy crabs in Yanming Lake and carp in the Yellow River have become the special foods to attract tourists. Hairy crabs in Yanming Lake naturally grow in Puwei bushes, with rich yellow mud and nutrition, which are favored by tourists.
