It will take about 4-8 weeks to get official approval and get a two-year entry visa to Hong Kong. The whole process will take about 6-8 months.
Legal basis: Article 13 of the Regulations of People's Republic of China (PRC) Municipality on Household Registration. When a citizen moves, he shall submit a migration certificate to the household registration authority, and register and submit the migration certificate within three days in the city and ten days in the countryside.
