I am a 26IT single man, working in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. I have been to Japan before. The first American visa, successfully passed, experience sharing. Because I am not a visa expert, I only record the steps I experienced personally here, and there may be omissions and mistakes. Please consider it in combination with other visa sharing materials.

Detailed Process-Online Section

DS- 160 is a necessary material for a US visa and needs to be filled in online. The website address is as follows:/

Home English address and postal code

College English address and postal code

English address and postal code of the employer.

English address and zip code of the original unit

Passport number and book number (the number written vertically on the right side of the passport personal information page, about 10 digits)

The whole process is to fill in the required information as required. Here are some details and key tips:

(1) Because there are many contents to be entered, the system will save the information you entered on the server, and you only need to fill in the application next time you come in. ID, last name, year of birth and security questions (so this information must be remembered) can bring up the previous information. In addition, you can also save the local file and import it when you continue to fill it out next time. It is said that some information will be lost. Not recommended (see figure 1).

(2) Fill in the name code and look up the name code in/. For example, the code of is 3769 (Wang) 1420 (Xiao) 0059 (2), as shown in Figure 2.

(3) Address format, taking Tencent's address as an example. Tencent's address is Tencent Building, Zhong Yi Avenue, Science and Technology Park, Nanshan District, Shenzhen. Then the filling format is shown in Figure 3. Generally, line 1 writes about specific buildings and streets, and line 2 writes about districts (cities are not needed, but cities are written there). If Line 1 is short, it can also be in the Line 1 writing area, and Line2 is empty.

(4) telephone format. The mobile phone number can be written as 86 136000000 or136000000. No+sign is required. If Tencent's landline is +86-755-860 13388, then fill in 86755860 13388. Note that the area code of Shenzhen is 0755, and 0 should be removed. Similarly, the area code of Guangzhou should be written as 20.

(5) Passport/travel document number is the passport number. Passport book number is a number written vertically on the right side of passport personal information page, which is about 10.

(VI) Tourism purpose: B-B 1/B2 is selected here, as shown in Figure 4. Whether you have made a travel plan, you can fill it in according to the actual situation. If you have, try to fill it in completely. General 15 days is more suitable for the duration of travel. To fill in the address of your stay in the United States carefully, you can find a hotel address to fill in (recommend Hilton).

(7) If a traveling companion has friends from the same trade, it is best to write them in to increase the authenticity, especially for the first visa. But novels are best not.

(8) Family If you have relatives who immigrate to the United States, it is best not to write it on the application form, which will increase the tendency to immigrate.

After filling it out, upload the photos on the white background prepared before. Then go to the overview page and check carefully if there are any problems. If not, just confirm it. Then remember to print the confirmation page of DS- 160 in color. The next step is to pay the fee and make an appointment for an interview. Open the website:/. First time users should register first. Then fill in the information as required. Do I choose to pay at CITIC ATM? Self-service payment Make an appointment for an interview after payment Remember to print out the confirmation sheet of the interview. At this point, the online part has been successfully completed. The next step is to wait for the face-to-face signing.

My personal experience is that the only materials I really read are DS- 160 application form, face-to-face confirmation form and passport, and I haven't read anything else. But it is a good thing to be prepared. More belts are better than no belts. So I suggest taking more.

It's best to arrive half an hour early on the day of the interview, just in case.

If you go alone, don't wait for valuables. It is not recommended to bring backpacks and mobile phones, just bring the necessary materials. I went to the American Consulate General in Guangzhou, where there was no official information. Only some aunts outside the embassy are doing bag-watching work outside. One charge, 30 yuan. So if you can go without anything, don't bring it. If there are fellow travelers, it is ok to show them to friends in the same industry. If it really doesn't work, leave it to your aunt. If you want to find someone who speaks Cantonese and looks like a local, you need her certificate, copy and contact information.

The interview process is like this: first queue for security check, then queue for data entry, then queue for fingerprint entry, and then queue for interview. The total process is about 1 hour. Nothing else, just follow the process. Interview, my personal experience is very simple, so I asked where my hukou is, what I want to do in the United States (travel), where I work, how long I work, and whether I worked in xxx before. What to do specifically. Yes, that's it.

Then the interviewer took my passport and sent me a yellow book. Generally, yellow paper means approval, white paper means rejection, and green paper means that information is incomplete and needs to be re-entered.

Finally, it is necessary to confirm whether the passport really passed online (website: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx) and wait for the passport to be sent back.
