How to apply for a new driver's license when immigrating to Hungary

In my words, Hungarian driver's license is common in the European Union. At present, there are two ways to get a driver's license: 1. Get a new driver's license, that is, the Hungarian government takes back our China driver's license and sends it to Hungary at the same time. 2. It takes more time to learn a new driver's license than to renew it.

The basic process of applying for a new driver's license is as follows:

Choose driving school

There is a driving school with Chinese service, which always provides Chinese service. There are also some driving schools in Hungary, but there is no Chinese service.

Apply for a driving license

After choosing a driving school, the driving school will first guide you to the Transportation Bureau (address: Visegr? D. u. 1 12, 1 133) submit a driver's license application. When applying, you must submit a medical examination report (the driving school will help you complete it), a translation of China driver's license (just take China driver's license and translate it directly to Hungarian OFFI Translation Bureau), an address card, a permanent residence card (original) and a bank card. You need to go in person when you apply, and you need to pay a fee of 9000 forint. It is most convenient to pay by credit card, otherwise you will have to take a check to the post office to pay. It takes about one to two weeks to approve the driver's license application.

Theoretical study and examination

The driving school will arrange the study of traffic regulations at the first time, and there will be Chinese translation in the class, which usually takes three and a half days. I want to remind you that the traffic rules here are very different from those in China, so you must read them carefully. The time for the general theoretical examination will be arranged by the driving school according to the learning progress after the driver's license application is passed. The exam questions are multiple-choice questions, and there will be Chinese translation. What needs to be reminded here is that you must listen to what the examiner says. If you violate the preventive measures, even if you fail. The test results will be notified on the spot.

Road research and road testing

Only after passing the theoretical examination can you take part in the study on the road. The specific study time will be reasonably arranged by the driving school according to everyone's driving skills. You can take the road test after you finish studying. Don't worry, there will be a Chinese interpreter during the road test. Most people have been driving in China for many years. As long as we study the traffic laws seriously and drive according to the regulations, we will certainly pass the exam. The road test results were also informed on the spot.

Get a driving license

After passing the road test, I need to submit my test report card and all documents (mentioned in the first paragraph) to the Transportation Bureau again to apply for a formal driver's license. This time, I need to take photos and sign on the spot. If I change the photos, I need to hand in my China driver's license and pay 6200 HUF by credit card, and then I will give you a license certificate. Generally, the official driver's license will come down in a week or two, and the driving school will inform you that you can pick it up with your certificate and license receipt.
