Malaysia allows short-term Chinese citizens (West Malaysia only) to extend their stay in Malaysia
Malaysia is a very popular tourist country and has a typical tropical climate in Southeast Asia. There are many islands here and the well-established tourism industry attracts a large number of tourists from China. After the outbreak of the new pneumonia epidemic, the entry of Chinese tourists was restricted and many flights were grounded. Recently, Malaysia allowed stranded Chinese tourists to extend their local visas.
According to the website of the Embassy in Malaysia, the number of flights to and from domestic cities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and other places has been reduced recently, causing the itinerary of some short-term citizens in China to be affected and unable to return home as scheduled. Considering the actual difficulties of Malaysian citizens and the fact that eNTRI or eVISA cannot be extended in principle, the Malaysian Embassy actively communicates and coordinates with the Malaysian Immigration Bureau on the issue of extension of residence for Chinese citizens.
The Malaysian Immigration Bureau fully understands and actively supports this, and agrees to extend the period of stay for Chinese citizens (only in West Malaysia) who meet certain conditions during special periods, and issue corresponding special passes.
1. Special pass application conditions (meet one of the following conditions):
1. Patients and their family members who are receiving nCOV virus treatment in local hospitals in Malaysia;
< p>2. Chinese tourists from Wuhan and surrounding cities in Hubei Province, Zhejiang Province and Jiangsu Province;3. Chinese tourists whose flights were canceled due to the epidemic.
2. Required documents:

(The above information is for reference only, specific requirements are subject to on-site explanation by the Malaysian Immigration Bureau)
Four. Processing procedures and methods:
1. The applicant sends the materials to the mailbox of the embassy or consulate.
Eligible applicants download and fill out the "Application Form for Assistance in Visa Extension" (Attachment 2), and send the application materials to the embassy or consulate email (no need to go to the embassy or consulate). Applicants from Penang, Kedah, Perak and Glasgow can send relevant materials to the insurance email address of the Chinese Consulate General in Penang: consulate_penang@163.com; applicants from other states in West Malaysia can send relevant materials to the Chinese Consulate General in Penang. The insurance email address of the Malaysian Embassy is lingbaoklyq@gmail.com.
2. The embassy or consulate will forward qualified applications to the Malaysian Immigration Bureau.
The embassy and consulate will send the summarized application list and materials together with the embassy and consulate certification letter to the mailbox designated by the Malaysian Immigration Bureau every day, and will reply to the applicant through the mailbox insured by the embassy and consulate.
3. The applicant goes to the Immigration Bureau to obtain a special pass.
After receiving the reply from the embassy or consulate, go to the headquarters of the Malaysian Immigration Bureau or the offices in each state (Annex 3) and go directly to the counter to check the approval results (each company can send one representative). If you pass, you can pay the fee on the spot and receive a special pass.
5. A short-term warm reminder to citizens in Malaysia from the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia:
1. This measure by the Malaysian Immigration Bureau is a temporary measure and may be adjusted at any time. Considering that the number of round-trip flights between China and Malaysia has been reduced recently, please book your tickets as early as possible so that you can take a suitable flight back home within the validity period of your stay.
2. Please choose the processing time and location scientifically to avoid crowding and increase the risk of virus infection in the Malaysian Immigration Office.
3. Visa is a sovereign act, and the Malaysian Immigration Bureau has the right to reject extension applications that it deems to be unqualified. Please abide by local laws in Malaysia and actively cooperate with the Malaysian Immigration Bureau.
The Chinese Embassy in Malaysia reminds Malaysian citizens to pay close attention to the measures announced by the local government, arrange their itinerary reasonably, and actively cooperate with the local health department in epidemic prevention work. The embassy will actively provide necessary assistance and sincerely wishes all citizens in China a healthy and safe journey!
