Jiamu Railway is the northern section of Tujia Railway and the southern section is Mutu Railway. Tujia Railway is also a part of Dongfang Road Railway, connecting Mudanjiang and Jiamusi, two important cities in Heilongjiang, and it is also the main channel for natural resources transportation in eastern Heilongjiang.
Mudanjiang to Boli is mainly a forest area (the northern section of Changbai Mountain), which is rich in wood resources. Boli-Jiamusi is an agricultural reclamation area in Sanjiang Plain, with continuous black soil, fertile soil and high grain yield.
