Shen Baozhen 1820~ 1879

Life: Shen Baozhen, an imperial envoy who advocated that Taiwan Province province should be established as a province and Taibei government should be established, was born in the 25th year of Jiaqing and died in the 5th year of Guangxu. Born in a traditional scholar-bureaucrat family, he was recruited as a son-in-law at the age of 19 and a scholar at the age of 29.

In the war with Taiping Army, he successfully held Guangxin Town, an important town in Jiangxi Province, and made it a national famous figure. Shen Baozhen was appreciated and recommended by Zeng Guofan during his military career, and he was promoted to be the governor of Jiangxi. However, after his mother's funeral, he unexpectedly accepted the post of Minister of Shipping.

Taiwan architecture:

After the Japanese army invaded Taiwan Province Province through the Peony Society Incident, 1874, the Qing court sent Shen Baozhen, Fuzhou's Minister of Shipping, to Taiwan to strengthen the defense of Taiwan Province Province and promote various constructions in just one year:
