The Historical Evolution of Zhou Min

During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, "Zhou Min" became the title of Min County in Gansu for the first time, and it was not used until 19 13. (The picture shows the main street of Zhou Min photographed by British explorer William Perdom in May 19 1 1.) In 623 BC (the thirty-seventh year of Qin Mugong), Min County entered the territory of Qin State.

In 22 1 year BC (the 26th year of the first emperor), China was unified, and the territory of the Qin Dynasty "reached Lintao Zhong Qiang in the west" (Historical Records of the First Qin Emperor). Lintao is now Min County, and Zhong Qiang is now Gannan. Lintao County is the beginning of setting up a county in Min County today.

Qin died and Han prospered, and Han inherited the Qin system. Min County in Han Dynasty was Lintao County under Longxi County, and there was a captain in the south.

During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, in 445 AD, Lintao County was established, located in today's Min County, with Chishui (in the area of Mei Chuan in today's Min County) and Shimen (in 485 in the ninth year of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty); In today's Shimen Township, Zhuoni) and Longcheng (in the tenth year of Taihe, that is, in 486, in today's northwest ancient city of Min County). Ten years after the reunification of Wei Wendi, in 544 AD, Zhou Min was established and Tonghe County was established. Lintao County was changed to Le Yi County, and Zhou Min and Tonghe County (now Min County) were located, hence the name Zhou Min. The size of the jurisdiction is equivalent to Min County and Dangchang.

In 583 AD (the third year of Emperor Wendi), Zhou Min was abolished, and Le Yi County in the Western Wei Dynasty was reorganized into Lintao County (now Min County), which belonged to Lintao County.

In 742 AD (the first year of Tang Tianbao), Zhou Min was changed to Hezheng County. In the first year of Yuan Dynasty, Su Zonggan restored Zhou Min in 758 AD, and governed Le Yi (now Min County), Youchuan and Hezheng (both in this Min County).

After the "An Shi Rebellion", the Tubo became stronger and took the opportunity to invade Longyou. In the second year of Su Zong Shang Yuan (76 1), Tubo captured Zhou Min. It was occupied by Tubo in the historical period of more than 300 years, and returned to the central dynasty during the "Xihe War" in the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty.

In A.D. 1073 (the sixth year of Xining in the Northern Song Dynasty), Wang Shao reverted to Zhou Min and administered three counties, five villages, three castles and one prison, namely, Youchuan County (now Min County), Daqin County, Changdao County, Linjiang Village, Lichuan Village, Machuan Village and Lvchuan Village. Sunshade castle, valley castle, steel castle. Taoshan invested money to supervise.

At the beginning of Southern Song Dynasty, Zhou Min moved to Baishi Town. Later, it was changed to "Hezhou" because the word "min" of "Zhou Min" violated Jin Taizu's taboo, but Anhui also had Hezhou, so it was renamed Xihe Prefecture. After the Southern Song Dynasty, most of Zhou Min was occupied by the Western Fan. In A.D. 127 1 year (to the eighth year of Yuan Dynasty), Zhou Min was placed under the jurisdiction of Tuskala Road (now Amdo Tibetan area), and Tubo and other places declared Tuskala Road to be under its jurisdiction (now Min County), and administered and led it (now Yuan Shanping, Min County, Wei Xiang). "Tao" was a secondary organizational system in Yuan Dynasty.

In A.D. 1378 (the 11th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty), Wei Minzhou was established in Min County today, and a thousand households were stationed in Xigu City (now Zhouqu). All belong to the Shaanxi Capital Command.

In A.D. 1730 (the eighth year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty), Wei Minzhou was renamed Zhou Min, which belonged to Gongwangfu (now Longxi County).

19 13 (February 2nd, Republic of China), Zhou Min was changed to Min County. During the Republic of China, it was the resident of the first administrative supervision department of Gansu Province.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it once belonged to Wudu area, and it was assigned to Dingxi area in the 1980s. Now it is under the jurisdiction of Dingxi City.
