The history of Dongli Town

Originally called Dongli Guantun Town, it is commonly known as "Dongli Town". The name "Dongli Guantun" was derived from the immigrants who settled in the fields in the early Ming Dynasty. At that time, the leader of the "juntun" site was named Li, so the military camp was called "Li Guantun". From Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty to Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Fengnen Township. During the reign of Guangxu, it belonged to the "Kuan" group, and in the second year of Xuantong, it belonged to Gongle Township. During the Republic of China, it belonged to the fifth district of Xiajin County. In September 1945, it belonged to the third district. In April 1950, it was transferred to the Second District and became the district's resident. In November 1956, it belonged to Dongliguantun Township and became the township resident. In 1958, it became the commune's residence and was called Dongliguantun Commune. In April 1984, it was renamed Dongliguantun Town.
