Why is zhenyuan county a famous historical and cultural city?

Zhenyuan county, Guizhou Province is one of the second batch of famous historical and cultural cities in China certified by the expert group 1986. With its dangerous geographical position, a river passes through the city, forming a unique landscape of water house and one city in 1993, which looks like Taiji Venice, but it is far from the town.

Zhenyuan has a long history and culture. Since Qin Zhaowang established the county in 30 years, it has been established for more than 2,280 years, of which 1300 is the seat of the government, road and agency. The county is located at the junction of Huaihua, Tongren and Qiandongnan in Hunan and Guizhou provinces, with a total population of 260,000, of which ethnic minorities account for 48%. This is a city where Miao and Dong cultures, immigrant cultures and other cultures blend together. Zhenyuan's special geographical position of "prospering commerce with the army" has made Zhenyuan famous as a political and military stronghold since ancient times, such as "If you want to seize Yunnan and Chu, you must occupy Zhenyuan" and "If you want to communicate with Yunnan and Guizhou, you must first defend Zhenyuan". In history, it is a battleground for officers and men, and it is known as "the gateway of Yunnan and Chu, and the gateway of eastern Guizhou". There are 28,000 garrisons in history, and the four official halls dedicated to Tian Lei, Wang Jian, Lian Po and Li Mu, as well as the ancient Great Wall on Shiping Mountain and numerous customs, tuns and forts are historical evidences. Zhenyuan was once an important stop on the "Southern Silk Road" in Southeast Asian countries such as Hunan, Chu, Yunnan, Guizhou and India. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Zhenyuan became the political, military, commercial and cultural center of eastern Guizhou, and some "Eight Guilds Hall" and "Twelve Theater Buildings" in history are still well preserved.
